Motorsport

Optrace is built for real engineering work across GT, touring car, endurance, junior formula, club motorsport and university racing teams. Start with CSV from an existing logger, then move into live UDP, COM or OBD-II workflows as the car and team mature.

RACE TEAM WORKFLOW

A local-first engineering platform for teams that need faster decisions.

Use Optrace to combine session data, driver feedback, setup notes, race strategy assumptions and engineering reports in one desktop workflow. It is designed to support trackside use without forcing every decision into a spreadsheet.

CSV, UDP, COM and OBD-II

Start with logger exports, then connect live data through UDP bridge, serial-style COM testing, or OBD-II where the car supports it.

Setup engineering

Create setup recommendations from car type, track name, track style, temperature, grip level, aero balance, tyre state and driver preference.

Race strategy

Model pit loss, stint length, weather risk, safety car probability and traffic to compare strategy options before committing trackside.

How Optrace fits into an existing race car

1. Export CSV from the existing logger first. 2. Confirm channel names and units. 3. Import the session into Optrace. 4. Build a car and driver profile. 5. Move to live UDP when the team wants real-time telemetry. 6. Use OBD-II only for basic production-car channels. 7. Keep all car interfaces read-only unless a qualified engineer has approved the hardware path.
